Participation in this event includes: 1) Pre-training webinar video training dispersed to participants on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 2) Networking social event with other like-minded Latinas/xs working in the RJ community 3) Day of Action: In-person, hands-on training on California's policy making process and effective policy advocacy strategies, followed by visits with federal and state legislators and their staff to discuss priority reproductive justice policy issues 4) Debrief conference call with CLRJ Staff on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 Social events and visits have been planned throughout the week in four regions: Region ~ Dates San Diego County: August 7th Social Gathering (6-PM) & August 8th Training & Legislative Visits (9AM-5PM) Location: Central San Diego area Los Angeles County: August 8th Social Gathering (6-9PM) & August 9th Training & Legislative Visits (9AM-5PM) Location: Northeast & Downtown LA area Bay Area (San Francisco & Alameda County): August 9th Social Gathering (6-PM) & August 10th Training & Legislative Visits Location: Downtown Oaklad area Central Valley (Fresno & Madera County): August 10th Social Gathering & August 11th Training & Legislative Visits Location: Downtown Fresno For a $15 registration fee, participants will get: 1) Meals during the training 2) Space to socially gather with other participants from your region 3) Pre-training recording of expectations, CA policy process 101, and policy messages 4) Training reference materials, policy backgrounders and advocacy tools 5) Connect with CLRJ's alliance networks to receive updates and remain involved in reproductive justice, policy and advocacy opportunities If you are interested in being part of this great opportunity, please answer the following pre-registration questions at bit.ly/CAlatinaspresente.
