WOMEN'S MARCH ON CHICO
SATURDAY JANUARY 20th, 2018

SAVE THE DATE!

On January 20, 2018 the Women’s March on Chico will unite again along with multiple other marches nationally to reaffirm our commitment to building a positive and just future for all, and to celebrate inspiring resistance efforts over the last year.

This rally is a place to engage and empower all people to support Women’s Rights, Human Rights, Civil Rights, Indigenous People’s Rights, Women of Color, Disability Rights, Women’s Healthcare, Immigrant Rights, Interfaith Unity, LGBTQIAA2S+ and Social Justice and Environmental Justice. Our feminism must be intersectional and inclusive, and we will continue to organize as such.

THEY HEARD OUR VOICE, NOW THEY WILL #HEAROURVOTE

The March will be one of many worldwide events honoring the movement that first brought out over 5 million marchers on January 21, 2017, in what is considered the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history. Locally we also saw thousands in the largest march Chico has ever held. We look forward to sharing this experience again and engaging our community even further.

We want to encourage participation in 2018 midterm elections and encourage people to organize locally, register to vote, vote, women run for office (especially Women of Color and marginalized people), and elect Progressive Women & Allies.
First we Marched, and Now we Run!

We also want to encourage support of ongoing local grassroots efforts addressing and meeting crucial needs such as housing, childcare, shelter, food security, community safety, racial justice, cultural equity, mutual aid, arts and education, honoring Indigenous People’s relationship to their Land and Water, and for affordable and compassionate healthcare access for all.
We will continue to work towards a more just local network to build, sustain and grow vibrant communities in unity together.

Join us at Chico City Plaza Saturday January 20th, 2018!

UNITY PRINCIPLES
The Women’s March on Washington convened a broad and diverse group of leaders to produce an intersectional platform known as the Unity Principles. Representing a new understanding of the connected nature of our struggles and a vision of our collective liberation, the Unity Principles continue to be a guiding light for our movement.

We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. We must create a society in which women – including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, disabled women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women – are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments free from structural impediments.
