description:
Did you march for peace in the 80’s? Have you been involved with protests over the years, waving banners for the cause with other women by your side? Maybe your grandmother shared stories of the peace crusades. Banner Tales documents, discusses and appreciates the role played by women in shaping our city.

This session will give you a chance to see and discuss two of Glasgow Museums’ peace banners from this era. Hear about their background and share your stories. Bring along photos, banners, and your memories or just come along to hear from others. Please note that the event will be recorded.

There will be a choir performance at the event and lunch will be provided by the wonderful McCune Smith cafe.

This event is programmed with Glasgow Museums and University of Glasgow’s School of Geographical and Earth Sciences.

Please contact the library to book your place on 0141 550 2267 as we need to know numbers for lunches.
