Description:

Ita O'Sullivan, our main speaker will present on Unconscious Bias. Her talk will cover what unconscious bias is, why it matters and what we can do in organizations to avoid the negative impact of unconscious bias. Even the most open-minded people can have several unconscious biases. Implicit beliefs – including doubts about their abilities – can lead to missing opportunities and so stop people from reaching the top.

Astrid Wingler; Professor of Plant Biology/Head of Plant Science in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) at University College Cork will give a short introduction to Athena SWAN, (Scientic Women's Academic Network) in UCC.
