You are already calling senators, sending postcards, donating. But you want to do more. You are not alone. This is a chance to bring together, in coalition, the many women in our state who’ve thought to themselves, “I can’t just sit here. I need to do something.” In the vein of our Girls Coalition Groups, we’re offering ongoing Women’s Action Groups. These groups, facilitated by trained Hardy Girls adult muses, will be focused on educating ourselves and taking action on the issues that matter most to women and girls. To learn more about these groups, we invite you attend one of our Kick-Off events. All events are from 6-8pm, with a $10 suggested donation. To register, click on the link above and choose your preferred location. January 11: Waterville (Jewell of India) January 19: Portland (Rising Tide Brewery) January 19: Bangor (Coespace) - STARTS AT 6:30pm The first hour of the events (6-7pm) will be for networking and mingling. Drinks/food available through the venue at your own choice. At 7pm, we’ll start a short program, examining our current culture’s treatment of girls and women through a critical lens. This will be a preview of activities/conversations you might have in the ongoing groups. The program will be interactive and no public speaking is required. At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to choose to sign up for ongoing engagement in a group in your area. Attending a kick-off event does not automatically sign you up for the longer commitment. Interested people who self-identify as female may participate. This includes people who were not assigned to the female sex at birth, but live and identify as female now. It also includes people who are legally assigned to the female sex, but who identify as transgender or gender fluid.
