description:
Join EMILY's List Queensland for our annual Valentine's Day Breakfast raising money to support progressive women in politics.

Our guest speaker will be Queensland’s Senior Australian of the Year for 2018, Dr Dimity Dornan AO. Dr Dimity Dornan, AO is a remarkable woman, an entrepreneur, bionics activist, speech pathologist and researcher. In 1992 she established Hear and Say as a leading not-for-profit for deaf children learning to listen and speak, particularly with surgically implantable hearing technology like the bionic ear. She is currently sharing her experience for the benefit of the stakeholders in the wider bionics industry. She has created an alliance called Human Bionics Interface which seeks to bring new bionics solutions to market to help patients with formerly untreatable medical problems. These include not only hearing but also visual, neurological, limb and organ conditions. Dr Dornan is now working to bring similar legendary outcomes possible for people using the bionic ear to other new spinoff devices (bionic eye, deep brain stimulation, bionic organ and limbs etc.)

Don't miss out on hearing her speak, get your tickets quick!
