Led by Two Spirit Shamxn, Community Healer & Founder of Ihiyotl, Mikaela Xochitl offers Emotionally Supporting Survivors of Sexual Trauma, a 2 hour workshop where participants will learn skills to assist & support survivors of sexual trauma throughout their healing path.
You'll learn:
-What classifies as sexual trauma 
-How sexual trauma affects the body and brain
-How to support and comfort survivors at various stages of recovery, including immediately after assault, when remembering and recalling past assault/abuse, when triggered, etc.
-Tips for practicing self-care while supporting a survivor

This class is for people supporting loved ones, acquaintances & peers who are recovering from sexual trauma, as well as survivors of sexual trauma.

This is a safer space for Trans & Queer people and People of Color. White People: be mindful of your privilege and how you take up space during this workshop, your allyship is expected.
All genders are welcomed.
