description:
The Bechdel Sound Test is a club night dedicated to female-fronted alternative music. All genres are allowed from Indie to Disco. Think Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bikini Kill, Ladyton, Blondie, Kate Bush and Sister Sledge.

The name originated from the famous “Bechdel Test” in the film world which has been used to assess gender bias within cinema. In order to pass the test, the film must contain a scene where two women talk about something else other than a man. We're taking this concept and applying it to music! With such a strong feminist uprising recently with the #metoo campaign, now is the time for the night to be established and to celebrate women in music.

The opening night will be held at The Book and Record Bar, West Norwood on 9th March the day after International Women's Day

The website will launch later in 2018. Watch this space!

Limited Advance Tickets are available online but there will be some tickets on the door
