description:
Join our community potluck discussion with feminist activists who are using the performing arts to educate the public about sexuality.

Art is a powerful form of resistance. What can artists learn from activists and vice versa? How can creative methods engage people who lack access to political or media representation? What are the possibilities and limits of creative activism? Come with your questions and meet collaborators working on women's rights and other social issues!

Lux Alptraum is a writer, sex educator, and commediene who investigates sex, feminism, and pop culture. She's the host of The Wonderful World of Boning, a comedy show that pokes fun at some of the worst sex ed films America has produced.

Her critically-acclaimed book The Sex Myth is a call for a generation to question how systems of power pull at the strings of our sexual experience. A devised play based on the book will debut in New York City in August 2017.

Lena Chen is an Asian American activist, artist, and writer based in Berlin, where she curates events and runs a creative support group for women. Her work explores gender, sexuality, identity, and mental health.
