It is wrong that people like you should be comfortable and well fed while all around you people are starving." - Sylvia Pankhurst Learn about and celebrate the great socialist and feminist organiser Sylvia Pankhurst at Workers' Liberty's February London Forum. 2018 marks a century since the first great victory of the women's suffrage movement: the 1918 Representation of the People Act. Sylvia Pankhurst broke with the 'respectable' wing of the women's suffrage movement, and threw herself into organising a socialist movement of working-class women in London's East End for real equality and freedom. Socialist activist and writer Jill Mountford will give a presentation on the Red Suffragette, and introduce a discussion the lessons we can learn from her work today. After the meeting, join us for pizza in the bar.
