Please join us for the afternoon - away from paid/unpaid work - to celebrate International Women's Day & A Day Without A Woman!

12-1PM WORKSHOP - GET READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE with Sara Ryan
Learn how to strategically run for office and win!
Sara has been running the Oregon Labor Candidate School since 2012, and is proud to be part of the Labor movement by supporting leaders who strive to pass policies that improve the lives of all Oregonians. Before moving to Portland in 2004, Sara worked at various nonprofits in the Midwest, along the West coast, and in Central America, connecting direct service with public policy.

1-3PM FILM SCREENING - “SHE’S BEAUTIFUL WHEN SHE’S ANGRY” (Dir. Mary Dore, 2014)
“Resurrecting the buried history of the outrageous, often brilliant women who founded the modern women’s movement from 1966 to 1971. She's Beautiful takes us from the founding of NOW, with ladies in hats and gloves, to the emergence of more radical factions of women’s liberation; from intellectuals like Kate Millett to the street theatrics of WITCH (Women’s International Conspiracy from Hell!). It does not shy away from controversies over race, sexual preference and leadership that arose in the women’s movement, and brilliantly captures the spirit of the time -- thrilling, scandalous, and often hilarious.”
