Join us for An International A Day Without Women Strike, March, & Info Meeting. There will be events all over the world advocating strength & solidarity for women. Everyone is invited, including men.

Itinerary:

5:30 Rally in Candler Park:
Meet at the corner of McLendon Ave. NE & Candler Park Dr. NE
Progressive candidates currently running for office and politicians will speak. They will tell you about their platforms and explain what it's like to run for office.

6:15 March:
We will leave at 6:30 at the latest for a slow, less than 1 mile walk to the location below. If you miss the march please come and meet us!

Arrival @ Location:
Socialize and eat (free) snacks!

7:00 Results Atlanta Presents: Political Advocacy 101 meeting.

Details:

Rally before the march:
Hear from progressive politicians & candidates running for office. They will speak about their platforms, teach some basics about running for office, sign people up to volunteer, tell you about upcoming events, etc. You'll be able to ask questions, give suggestions, get resources, and socialize. We are passing out a calendar of upcoming events that has contact info on the back for each candidate & TONS of progressive activist groups. The goal is to empower women and others to run for office after gaining knowledge from volunteering for progressive campaigns. (You don't have to volunteer to participate in this event though). We are nonpartisan/ all inclusive. All pro-women candidates, politicians, activists, and attendees (regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity, etc) will be warmly welcomed! We ♥ local Independents and will have a Georgia Green Party speaker!

(There is a thread on this event page that will be edited to announce all of the speakers as they are added. So even if you've seen it, there will be more updates.)

March:
If you are running late and you miss the march please meet us at the location below. We are trying to leave no later than 6:30pm! It is a 30 minute, (less than 1 mile), slow casual walk... Feel free to drive to the next location instead if need be or you may take public transportation.

Results Atlanta Meeting:
What is political advocacy? How does it work? Does it work? Can you do it sitting in traffic?
** Agenda **
1. Brief civics overview on the mechanics of our government.
2. Overview of effective, proven advocacy strategies for educating our policymakers to meet our needs as constituents.
3. Hands-on, step-by-step guide on implementing some of these strategies at home.
4. Take action together!

Finer Details:

*We are going to try to broadcast over Facebook Live via the (National) Women For Bernie Sanders Facebook page, and shared elsewhere in an effort to include our able-challenged (handi-capable) participants, anyone that is too busy to attend, outside of the area, etc.

*Our event is very different from a lot of the other events being held. We wanted to do more than march. We hope this event empowers and encourages everyone's participation in politics and activism. We will warmly welcome new people to join us, as well as those of you that have been active in politics for decades! We want YOU to run for office or help your neighbor run! WE ARE THE ONES WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

*If you want to be a speaker or volunteer please send a Facebook message to Erica Darragh or Rebekah Joy. Speaking spots are very limited.

*WE WILL ALSO BE REGISTERING NEW VOTERS!
