description:
The Farmington District Resource Advisory Council (RAC) is holding a *public* meeting on January 30 from 8AM-4PM at the BLM Farmington District Office, 6251 College Blvd., Suite A, Farmington, NM 87402.

Give public comment for fracking protections: 3-3:30 PM (!)
Rally outside (to make sure the public is heard): 4PM until we are finished.

The Farmington District RAC consists of 10 members chartered and appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, Ryan Zinke. The RAC advises BLM resource managers regarding management plans and proposed resource actions on public land in the BLM's Farmington District.

BLM Farmington has already leased 91% of available lands to fracking and already this year is offering up another 4,500 acres of sacred land in Greater Chaco in its March oil and gas lease sale. Soon, we expect BLM to release its Resource Management Plan Amendment which will outline and analyze further fracking development across the Greater Chaco Landscape.

The Farmington RAC provides local guidance to BLM. Let's make sure they guide BLM toward the service of the people. Our health impacts, clean air, water, sacred land and ancient heritage cannot be sacrificed for fracking.

We'll be there bearing witness, engaging council members, and submitting public comment to protect Greater Chaco from fracking. We hope you'll join us.

From 8:30-9:15AM there will be an update on the Farmington Resource Management Plan Amendment.

From 3:00-3:30PM there will be an opportunity for public comment.

4:00PM-Onwards We will be rallying outside BLM Farmington Headquarters to demonstrate for Greater Chaco protections and continue the call to engage the public and tribal governments.

The public may also submit written comments (*by MAIL*) to Zach Stone, Farmington District, New Mexico, 6251 College Blvd., Suite A, Farmington, NM 87402; or by telephone (505) 564-7677, no later than January 29, 2018, to be made available to the RAC at the January 30, 2018, meeting. All written comments received prior to the meeting will be provided to the council members.
