We continue to stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families -- recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our state and country. The rhetoric and policy decisions of the past year have insulted, demonized, and threatened many of us--women, immigrants of all statuses, Muslims and those with diverse religious faiths, LGBTQ and Two-Spirit people, Native people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, the economically impoverished and survivors of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Our communities are hurting and scared. In 2017, we were confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear. In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we joined in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. Nevertheless, we persist! In 2018, the Women’s March on Wyoming is reinvigorated to ensure participants will leave Inspired and motivated, with new connections, skills and strategies for working towards collective liberation for women and all allies. That means empowering Wyomingites to march to the voting booth. It means testifying in our city halls and state Capitol. It means running for public office to protect the most vulnerable amongst us. IF YOU CAN’T HEAR OUR VOICE, YOU’LL HEAR OUR VOTE. We support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect our multiple and intersecting identities. We call on all defenders of human rights, including women’s reproductive rights, to join us. For many this March is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. Women’s rights are human rights. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for ALL. The Women’s March on Wyoming is the beginning of a political groundswell, showing the rise of the woman IS the rise of the state. This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports women's rights are welcome. PLEASE SHARE, we need to spread the word everywhere!
