We will march via the sidewalks to Caras Park for a rally and celebration. The mission of Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change and is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect. The Women’s March is about Rights, Ending Violence, Environmental Justice and “Powering the Polls” for 2018 Election. We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. We must create a society in which women - including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, disabled women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women - are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments free from structural impediments. This march promotes Reproductive Rights, LGBTQIA Rights, Worker’s Rights, Civil Rights, Disability Rights, and Immigrant Rights. We believe that women deserve to live full and healthy lives, free of all forms of violence against our bodies. It is our moral imperative to dismantle the gender and racial inequities within the criminal justice system. We believe that every person and every community in our nation has the right to clean water, clean air, and access to and enjoyment of public lands. We believe that our environment and our climate must be protected, and that our land and natural resources cannot be exploited for corporate gain or greed - especially at the risk of public safety and health. We believe that the election of 2018 is extremely important for Rights, Ending Violence and Environmental Justice. From the Women’s March to the Women’s Convention, we’ve seen how powerful we are when we gather together, share space and lift each other up. It is through ongoing vigilance, grassroots activism and pressure that has made it possible to even imagine flipping the political script in November 2018.
