This little girl could have been rescued - had the police acted promptly to look for her. We also need to ask - had she not been the daughter of a poor worker, would the police have acted the same way? In February the SC had ordered that FIRs be promptly registered in the case of every missing child, noting that "noone - not even the Centre or state govts - cares for missing children"
