The Aberdeen Political Economy Group, the Feminist Society and the Politics and International Relations Society are proud to announce their first collaboration.

"Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.” This quote by Oscar Wilde could not describe more accurately how people use terms in everyday life without understanding their actual meaning. Intuitively, you would probably say you know what value is, but could you explain it to someone? What is the source of value? And is there just one type of value?

Come along to our panel discussion and find out more about the two major theories of value in economics. We will be joined by Dr. John Skåtun from the Economics department and Dr. Martin Mills from the Anthropology department who will shortly introduce and discuss the two theories. After that, we will open up the floor and you will have the opportunity to engage with the speakers. If the debate is still ongoing at 7:30pm we will move to the Bobbin where we can continue it over a couple of pints!
