An online event organized by the Business Model Innovators
Worldwide, millions of young people will be unemployed in the course of COVID-19. From India to the United States, the virus does not discriminate, yet its economic and social impact is unevenly distributed.
Workers lost power and a sense of agency over their lives. In the face of all this, how can working people organize, regain control, and participate in the building of economic alternatives?
Our guest speakers are experienced entrepreneurs experts in co-ops and they will introduce us to the Digital platform co-ops to provide better jobs at scale.
Imagine an Uber owned by the drivers or Twitter owned by its users. A shift from a “shared economy” to a genuine participatory, democratically owned economy is possible and we will learn how this is possible through listening the stories of our guests:
ELA KAGEL
Digital strategist Ela specialises in the intersection of society, technology and economy. Since the 1990s she has produced media art exhibitions, designed spaces for cultural exchange and helped establish digital platforms, networks and communities. In 2010 Ela co-founded SUPERMARKT, an independent hub for digital culture and collaborative economy. Since 2019 she is a board member of Platform Cooperatives Germany eG and co-initiator of the #Platformcoop Berlin meetups.
