Tem como proposta inicial a criação de espaços de expressão para que Mulheres Negras, de origens, idades, culturas, territórios, classes sociais, histórias e atividades profissionais distintas, possam refletir sobre as especificidades de suas opressões, intercambiar idéias e propostas e se fortalecerem mutuamente na luta por novas conquistas e pela ampliação de direitos conquistados. Absolutamente fundamental que esses territórios sejam referência e estímulo para mulheres que se sentem à margem dos espaços socialmente valorizados.
A oficina de teatro das oprimidas se propõe a ser um espaço estético, democrático, criativo, propositivo e dinâmico, onde mulheres possam se reconhecer e ser reconhecidas como produtoras de arte, de conhecimento e de transformação social. Um espaço de valorização e de difusão dessa expressão; de intercâmbio e de estímulo à solidariedade e à justiça.
