Workshop: Madalena-Anastácia
"Madalena-Anástacia“ is a workshop-group addressed to Black Women.

The group has been meeting at S.U.S.I. since January. This time, however, we shall meet at Kuringa for an intensive workshop with Barbara Santos!
The main purpose of the workshop will be creating space for intensive reflections of issues of Black Women (e.g. with topics like body, intersectional oppressions, wishes and desires). At the same time we aim to be developing a performance or (theatre) scene with methodologies of the Forum Theatre under the guidance of Barbara Santos.
The completed performance should lead to more visibility of our topics and can be presented at future events or political actions. Maybe even at the II International Festival Ma(g)dalena, which will take place from 13th to 17th September 2017 in Berlin.
After our successful political action at the International Women*s Struggle demonstration on 8th March 2017 we’d like to get to know each other better at this upcoming workshop, we would like to strengthen ourselves as a group and help (one another) to become protagonists of our own stories.

Admission is free. The workshop will take place in English, Spanish, Portuguese and German – and in whatever language you feel at home.

Barbara Santos is Afro-Brazilian, educational trainer/director of the theatre workshops “Kuringa” and Madalena-Berlin, Theatre of the Oppressed Women and initiator of Madalena-Anastácia.
