Let's play football and meet new faces // Friendly kickabout for self-identified queer, lesbian, bi and trans women, trans men, non-binary and intersex people // Sorry cis men, this one is not for you // Taking up space is political! // Meet for football - then food at 3pm at The Dove pub on Broadway Market for anyone that fancies it // All levels of ability welcome // Wear what you want // No special gear needed beyond trainers // We don't take ourselves too seriously // Minimal running // Run as much as you feel // Just come to hang out // Taking up space is political // Join the group for more info and to stay in touch with the weekly kickabouts starting again in Spring https://www.facebook.com/groups/QueerKickaboutEast/ Haggerston Park: main field: https://goo.gl/maps/pxZhdjqJvX82 (we'll be in the top right hand side of the park, near Dove Row) The Dove Pub: https://www.facebook.com/thedovebroadwaymarket/?rf=149838788398727 / https://goo.gl/maps/jKWdPyz7VrA2 Don’t worry about having to be super fit / good at football, it’s so not competitive! Few other things: - Don't make assumptions about anyone’s gender. Ask about pronouns. - Bring out your hairy legs, bingo wings and muffin tops. Let’s make it a welcoming space for queers with all types of bodies. - The space is wheelchair accessible on paved level paths and there's an accessible loo 200m away. We are committed to accessibility and if you have any requests or suggestions please PM us and we'll do our utmost to make it happen! - Drop in and out of playing as much as you’d like. - If you’re great at football, give others space to play too. Step back and try not to dominate. - No need to say sorry for missing a ball etc. - Sometimes hanging out with random queers can be a super-intimidating experience. Let's make the space as open and friendly as possible - Racism, transphobia, homophobia, fatphobia, sexism all exist within queer communities. Let’s not replicate this in our space. - This will be a collaboratively run space. Feel free to add anything else you'd like to see happen in the comments.
