Today British pharmacy is overwhelmingly female, but what roles did women play in its history? From star students to suffragettes, Briony will focus on the efforts of women to gain recognition in the pharmacy profession in its early decades. The lecture will also investigate the impact of gender on pharmacy during the twentieth century, and consider whether it still presents challenges today.
