In the Asia Pacific region, while there are diverse cultures, religions, ethnicities and languages, there are some common experiences. When there is war or conflict, no matter which country in the region, violence disproportionately impacts women and girls. On the eve of International Women’s Day (IWD), the CMU Faculty of Education, Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) and other NGOs are holding a workshop to share the experiences of the women in different countries and join 'Women Call for Peace'.

By breaking away from the cycle of violence and affirming our commitment to peace based on justice, empathy, and solidarity for each other’s struggles, we can build something powerful and lasting. From APWLD, building an alternative, sustainable society starts from our envisioning of Development Justice, as we see that systemic change is needed to build a resilient and peaceful society.

Join us for an afternoon of thoughtful discussions on women and peace.

Venue: Room 4509, Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University
