description:
Andrea Ainsworth has been the voice director of the Abbey Theatre since 1995 and has been a lead facilitator with their Theatre Skills for Business training and development programme since 2014.

She works closely with actors and directors on all aspects of voice, text and accent work for the Abbey and Peacock stages. In recent years she has also started to share these skills with business people, helping them to become more effective communicators. Knowing how your voice works – how you breathe and hold your body is vital if you want to keep and hold an audience’s attention.

Andrea is particularly interested in working with women to help them step up and take more space physically and vocally. She helps her clients find a more grounded, fuller and freer sound – one that reflects the person and communicates with authority and ease. This evening she will take you through some of the exercises she uses with performers and other professional voice users to help them become more dynamic speakers.
