description:
September 15 - October 15 marks National Hispanic Heritage Month or Latino Health Awareness Month. During this month, many organizations and businesses join together to celebrate the diverse identities and experiences of Hispanic/Latino communities. As a strategy to amplify the reproductive justice (RJ) stories and needs of Latinas/xs within this national conversation, the activist leaders of COLOR, CLRJ, and NLIRH are making the call to our communities to make our RJ stories heard.

We are Latina/x and this is our story: we are queer, we are undocumented, we are mothers, we are parents, we are trans, we are young people, we are workers, we are leaders, we are powerful. Although our community has experienced systematic attacks on our human and reproductive rights, we rise up and overcome. We have inherited a grand legacy of resistance from our ancestors who have fought for equality all over las Americas and have brought their stories with them to the U.S so that we may learn and continue the fight for justice.

Join the Los Angeles and San Diego Chapters of CLRJ on October 14th as part of a national day of action, #MyRJStory. In the tradition of using storytelling and art as tools to change culture and policy, we will be collectively making contents for a zine with fellow RJ activist from various regions across the country. At the end of our campaign, we will compile all submissions into an downloadable PDF to make the reproductive justice framework and the experiences of our communities accessible to the public.

Continue the conversation all month long by following CLRJ, COLOR and NLIRH on social media and using the hashtags #MyRJStory #LatinxPower2017
