description:
The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) and the End FGM European Network present 'Building Bridges to End FGM'. The photography exhibition visually captures the building of bridges between countries from which victims of female genital mutilation (FGM) have originated, and countries of their present residence. The exhibition is touring the UK, Belgium, France, Cyprus and the Netherlands, and features the work of 10 photographers from across Europe.

The photographers offer a refreshing perspective on the issue of FGM – creating a feeling of hope that FGM can end and women and girls living with its lifelong consequences can be given the attention and services they need and deserve.

Launch date: Wednesday 6th December 2017
Time: 18:00 – 19:30
Venue: University of Nicosia, Gallery Restaurant

Opening addresses:
Ms Susana Pavlou - Director, Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies.
Ms Olga Komiti - Protection Officer at UNHCR Cyprus.
