Along with manipulated elections, increasing power concentration at the hands of the Executive, and on-going repression of all forms of dissent. The last BERSIH protest in 2012 drew an estimates of 30,000 protesters. This weekend's protest is expected to be even bigger than the last. The 36-hour overnight protest planned in the capital Kuala Lumpur and simultaneous solidarity events are being organised in other Malaysian cities and all around the world. As Malaysians from all walks of life will come together on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu demanding for: Clean elections Clean governments Right to Dissent Strengthening Parliamentary Democracy Saving Our Economy APWLD is hosting a Solidarity Action for the people of Malaysia at our garden in the APWLD office! Please come and join us wearing something yellow (the official BERSIH color) along with your message of solidarity.
