description:
Join us for an evening of jazz and soul sounds from 'The First Lady of Song' Ella Fitzgerald, featuring singers from The Fourth Choir and special guests.

Ella Fitzgerald was the voice that defined an era. Her interpretations of the Great American Songbook are some of the most treasured recordings in music history.

Paying homage to one of the most important voices in the history of music takes some doing and so we’re honoured to be welcoming very special guest singers to give their rendition of Ella’s greatest hits.

One of the most important singers in the history of music, she emerged from a troubled childhood to be become jazz’s greatest star. Tracks like “Summertime”, “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “Too Darn Hot” are as much a part of music subconscious as Miles Davis’s trumpet playing or John Coltrane on the sax.

The show will be curated by Dominic Ellis-Peckham, who has previously worked with orchestras including BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, British Federation of Youth Orchestras and Scottish Opera.
