This is a space created by students, artists, radicals, unwaged and waged workers and activists. Radical Residency was set up by poc, queer and radical peeps who scrawl their joy and their rage upon the walls. We put on workshops and events that challenge traditional education and political institutions. We celebrate through solidarity, music, art and learning. We nurture self-development and self-awareness, being reflective and critical of all that we know and that we strive towards. Drop your binaries and your prejudices at the door and actively engage through radical listening and participation. Please note that this space hopes to be a celebratory safe one, where no one feels they should have to justify their presence. We are trying to cultivate an environment of solidarity, community and trust. Please make sure that you are actively sharing the space, not dominating it. Conversations are not monologues, make sure that when you are speaking with others you are also listening too. Be mindful of how you are participating, whether passive or active, and be conscious of how your behaviour affects others. Community Guidelines - No hard alcohol or hard drugs (common sense applies, if you have any doubts, just ask). If your level of inebriation is making other people uncomfortable you will be asked to leave. - Smoking is limited to the smoking area. - Our awareness team (wearing A's on their backs) will be coming around and checking in with everyone periodically, if they notice someone behaving a way that is incompatible with the space that we are working to create, that person will be approached and potentially asked to leave the space. - We will be closing our doors at 12, we reserve the right to deny people entry (i.e if you are already too drunk) - If you feel unsafe, please find an awareness team member.
