EARTH DAY: The Climate Collage workshop – special edition

Description

The Climate Collage is a fun, participatory and creative workshop on climate change. Join the “special edition” to celebrate #EarthDayAtHome!
Earth Day Network’s mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.

Earth Day 2020 will be far more than a day. It will be a historic moment when citizens of the world rise up in a united call for the creativity, innovation and bravery that we need to face the enormous challenges — but also the vast opportunities — of acting on climate change.
In order to act you need to understand first. Be part of this movement – start by participating in a Climate Collage workshop!
CLIMATE COLLAGE WORKSHOP – special edition
« The Climate Collage », a workshop based on collective intelligence, explains the climate functioning and the consequences of its disruption. As an highly educational tool, it gives the opportunity to learn a lot in a very short period of time. The workshop addresses both novices and experts.
The principle of the game:
The workshop is based on a 42-card game. Each card represents an element, a cause or a consequence of climate change. As a team, guided by your facilitator, you are to find the cause-effect relationship between the different components of climate change. This step-by-step reconstruction provides keys to understand the complexity and develop an overview of climate change.
T he workshop’s program – some little extras to celebrate Earth Day:

Presentation of “Earth Day Network” and “The Climate Collage “
Icebreaker
Reconstruction of the Climate Collage in small groups, guided by a facilitator
Debrief + time to share, express thoughts and feelings
Creation of “zero-waste signs” for our group picture of Climate Cnline Activists (Even from home you can take an advocacy action!)

REMEMBER: The workshop takes place online, a good internet connection is necessary.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

Make sure to have installed the zoom.us software, which will be the workshop’s communication platform. You will receive an e-mail with all the technical information you need, including the link to join the meeting two days and one minute before the workshop starts.
Please come prepared for the creation of our “online-signs”: a marker and any kind of carton or cardboard (whatever is at hand – even an empty milk carton will do the trick. #speakingupfromhome

You can participate for free or contribute with a donation. Please take your ticket only if you are sure that you can make it !
