***
Vidhya has vast experience working to combat anti-minority violence, far-right extremism, and terrorism. She is the founder of Moonshot CVE, a startup that develops innovative ways of combating violent extremism. This is achieved by applying startup thinking to the field of countering violent extremism through the use of data, science techniques, creativity and an appetite for risk-taking. Vidhya’s vision is underpinned by a range of experience engaging with extremists, building new partnerships with activists, and advancing policy design.
Previously, Vidhya was Senior Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), where she set up and ran the international program on Far-Right Extremism and Intolerance. From 2012-2014, she led the EU’s capacity building program on far-right terrorism, the Far-Right Extremism in Europe Initiative (FREE Initiative), working with over 300 practitioners across 10 countries. She holds various roles including Commissioning Panelist for the UK Security and Intelligence Agencies and ESRC, Faculty Associate at the University of Oxford, and Fellow at the German Institute on Radicalisation and Deradicalisation Studies (GIRDS). She sits on the Advisory Board of Life After Hate and Tell MAMA (Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks).
