Where Does Your Heart Belong?
Werke aus der Signum Foundation:
Die gleichermaßen an Herz und Verstand appellierende Ausstellung bietet einen Einblick in eine herausragende polnische Privatsammlung. Die hier gezeigte pointierte Auswahl an Arbeiten ist in dieser Form erstmals in Deutschland zu sehen. Die Werke stammen aus der in Poznań beheimateten, aber auch in Łódź und Venedig ansässigen Signum Stiftung, die 2002 von Hanna und Jarosław Przyborowski begründet worden ist. Ihre mediale Spannbreite reicht von Malerei, über Skulptur zu Performance- und Prozesskunst, über Fotografie, Neon-Textarbeiten, Konzeptkunst bis hin zu recht provokanten und verstörenden Selbst-Inszenierungen, in denen überkommene Rollenmuster kritisch hinterfragt werden. Die Liste der beteiligten Künstlerinnen und Künstler liest sich wie ein „Who’s Who?“ der polnischen Kunst.

Works from the Signum Foundation:
The exhibition, which appeals to both the head and the heart, offers insights into an outstanding Polish private collection. The conceptually vivid selection of works on display here is being shown in this form for the first time in Germany. The works come from the Signum Foundation that was established by Hanna and Jarosław Przyborowski in 2002 and is based in Poznań but also located in Łódź and Venice. The range of media extends from painting past sculpture to Performance and Process Art; from photography past neon-textual works and Concept Art all the way to extremely provocative and disturbing self-stagings in which traditional role patterns are critically examined. The list of participating artists reads like a Who’s Who? of Polish art.

Das Projekt wurde organisiert in Kooperation mit dem Adam-Mickiewicz-Institut im Rahmen von Culture.pl und des internationalen Kulturprogramms POLSKA 100 anlässlich des 100-jährigen Jubiläums der Wiedererlangung von Polens Unabhängigkeit.
Das Projekt wird kofinanziert vom Ministerium für Kultur und Nationalerbe der Republik Polen als Teil des mehrjährigen Programms NIEPODLEGŁA 2017–2021.
Die Ausstellung verläuft parallel zum jazzahead! Festivals 2018 mit dem Partnerland Polen.

The project is organized in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute operating under the Culture.pl brand within the international cultural programme POLSKA 100 accompanying Poland’s centenary of regaining independence.

The exhibition is running in parallel with the jazzahead! festival, whose partner country is Poland in 2018
