Alongside all the fabulous events happening for the centenary of Women's suffrage and international women's day, let's also have a street presence, join the global women's strike and celebrate the achievements and campaigns by women in Wales in a public manner.
This is shaping up to be a brilliant day of celebration and protest.
11:00 Join the UCU Strike outside the main gates of Cardiff University Park Place to show solidarity with the strikers
12:30 Join the WASPI women in their procession and support them in their fight for a fair transitional State Pension Arrangement. I believe their are having a afternoon tea party after the procession.
16:30 Gather at Nye Bevan to celebrate the diverse group of women that make Cardiff unique and raise awareness of the many issues still affecting women. There will be a small march and speeches in front of Central Library.
We have linked in with the Global Women Strike, so feel free to come along and make some noise and collectively show that 'enough is enough'!
The Women’s Strike is a strike for solidarity between women – women of colour, indigenous, working class, disabled, migrant, Muslim, lesbian, queer and trans women. On 8 March, in cities and towns across the UK we will meet each other on the streets and strike against a system of power that keep us isolated and divided from one another.
