For Women’s Month 2018, St. Margaret's House is bringing the global movement down to a local level by shedding light on the huge impact made by women in our East London community.
We want you to join us! Our open-call invites you to celebrate the fantastic women in your lives and communities, by submitting up to 5 photographs of somebody you know who has made a special impact.
50 of the photographs submitted will be featured as part of a digital exhibition on our website, and 15 photographs will be selected for exhibit at the Gallery Cafe throughout March.
No need for any experience! Just follow the link to find out more about the exhibition and get your cameras clicking. www.stmargaretshouse.org.uk/celebratewomen/
And don't forget to submit by 15th February 2018!
All are welcome to our free launch night on 1st March at 7pm, which kicks off a whole host of events and happenings at St. Margaret's House throughout March. It'll be a chance for the photographers to see their work on the walls, and an opportunity for you to meet the brilliant women who they chose to photograph.

This exhibition is really close to our hearts, here at St. Margaret's House. Our own story began early in 1888, when Miss Anson distributed a leaflet in Oxford asking for support for a ladies' mission.
Initially called the Bethnal Green Ladies Committee, it was the foundation of the charity that we are so proud to be part of today, and it’s all thanks to the initiative of a group of women who dedicated their time and resources to making a positive social impact in the local community.
How easy is it for stories like these to be forgotten over time, and how many other individuals continue to make an invaluable impact on our communities?
Let's discover these stories together!
We hope to see you at our launch!
