Birmingham Women’s Strike assembly warmly invite you to our Feminist Free School, a space where women, non-binary people, men and all other genders can come together to learn about feminism in an informal and accessible environment.
Education about feminism needs to take place outside of the academy with the people who need it the most. We want to discuss theoretical and practical issues that face all women and trans people today. We want to learn together, from one another as well as from those most informed about the topic. We want to open up a feminist movement in Birmingham and help to up-skill and educate everyone who would like to be involved.
The day will consist of three workshops (additional workshops may be added at a later date), a break for food and drink and socialising and will conclude with some information about how get involved with Birmingham Women’s Strike and help us to organise towards International Women’s Day on March 8th 2018.
The workshops we have confirmed so far will be:
Why is Housework work? A workshop led by Camille Barbagallo (University of Keele)
The Abortions Rights Movement of the UK. A workshop led by Pam Lowe (Aston University)
Patients Not Passports. led by Irial Eno, junior doctor and member of Docs not Cops
