Part of the Nursery's series of workshops by women for women to create an open and supportive creative space for female-identifying improvisers of all ages and experience levels who may, for whatever reason, feel they would benefit from an all-female class environment in which to learn and play! It’s a safe place to come and be bold and fearless and meet other dynamic women from across the city.
The classes run once a month, and they are stand alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!
Our second class is Sunday 21 January, 2-5pm with Amy Cooke-Hodgson.
An experienced improviser, Amy began her improv career with the Oxford Imps and performed in over 200 of their shows. In addition to their weekly sell-out night, she performed in the Imps’ long form musical shows, radio plays, toured the USA and was part of three 5* runs at the Edinburgh Festival. She also trained and performed with Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and can be seen regularly appearing in Austentatious.
Previous improv work includes performances with Abandoman, Scenes from Communal Living & Multi Story in venues including: Royal Festival Hall, The Old Vic Tunnels, Bath Kommedia, ETC Theatre, New Diorama, Tristan Bates Studio, Bestival, Burton Taylor, Truck Festival, Calvin Wynter’s VIP Lounge, Comedy for Kids, Questor’s Theatre, Brixton Oxjam, Harrogate Theatre.
The cost is £20 and you can book via the link below.
