Security Information from the City of Philadelphia:
"Due to the projected size and scope of the 2018 Women’s March on Philadelphia on January 20th, 2018, the City will be implementing some additional security measures in order to ensure the safety of all in attendance.

Event attendees can enter the march assembly area at Logan Circle at the following locations:

* 18th Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway
* 20th & Race Streets
* 20th & Vine Streets

Event attendees wishing to attend only the rally portion of the event may access Eakins Oval and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at the following additional locations:

* 22nd Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway (north and south sides)
* Pennsylvania Avenue & Spring Garden Street
* 25th Street & Kelly Drive
* Eakins Oval (south side, near 24th Street)

Items NOT allowed inside the venue include:

- Weapons and contraband of any kind (regardless of permitting, e.g. Right-to-Carry permits will not be honored and weapons will be confiscated)
- Fireworks or explosives
- Illegal or illicit substances of any kind
- Skateboards, motorized vehicles or scooters (excluding motorized wheelchairs or similar equipment)
- Laser pointers
- Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) & drones of any kind

Attendees are strongly discouraged from carrying bags, backpacks, or satchels of any kind. All bags are subject to search, and therefore, the presence of bags could create delays in allowing attendees to enter the event.

In addition, the public should expect congestion in the area. If you are attending the event, make a plan regarding driving, public transit, parking, and supervision of children. Be prepared to wait to enter and exit the area. We recommend that attendees wear comfortable, weather-appropriate attire.

Leave no bags or items unattended. In an emergency or to report a suspicious person, activity or item (a backpack, a package, a container), notify a police officer immediately or call 9-1-1. Do not try to open, move, cover or touch a suspicious item."

We Resist.
We stand against those in our country and society who seek to divide us and stifle the diversity that makes our nation great. We will no longer allow the rights and interests of women and those who identify as women in mind, body, or spirit to be disregarded.

We Persist.
One year after the largest demonstration in the history of the world, we continue to speak up and remind everyone: We will not be silenced! We will be there in the streets, in the halls of Congress, outside the White House. We will march, we will rally, and we will organize in our communities. We will call out those who try to intimidate us. We will jam the phone lines, we will write postcards, we will connect on social media with others of like mind. We will work to get out the vote and we will be there at the polls to see change happen. We will continue our fight!

We Rise.
For the second year, we come together in solidarity at the Women’s March on Philadelphia and at marches around the world to reiterate our message: We hold our elected officials accountable. We are fighting for women’s rights, especially in communities marginalized the most. We are creating our own space to have a voice in decisions that affect our everyday lives. We believe in our ability to create change because together we are powerful and this movement is strong. We are rising, fearless and unapologetic. We are running for the very offices held by those who have tried to keep us down. We are taking our seats at the table!

• Why are you having a march/rally?

• Why do I need tickets? Are tickets required? Tickets are not required to attend and you don’t need to bring them with you. We are solely requesting people to register in order for us to gauge approximate attendance numbers so we can plan for things like security and port-o-potties.
• Why are you asking for money/donations? Where does the money go? We are fundraising to cover the costs of the march and rally. A short list of things we need to pay for includes: permit, sanitation, security, stage, lighting, sound, port-o-potties, tents (including a heated first-aid tent), signs,
• Are you working with SEPTA and the city to manage public transportation and planning? Yes – this is one of the many reasons we ask people to register – so we can let SEPTA and the city know expected attendance figures and plan accordingly.
