Women in Media London networking evening: Round 2!

At Amnesty International UK, London, United Kingdom
On 6th December 2017 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Description

⭐️ If you couldn't make our first event, or if you came and want more, have no fear: Women in Media London #WIMLDN's SECOND networking evening is here! ⭐️

Our next event will once more be held at Amnesty International HQ in Shoreditch, and it will be even bigger and better than before!

This time, we will have a couple of inspiring keynote speakers, an exciting Q&A with some of our wonderful women in media, and our regular mingling and networking with many of the best gals in the biz.

Please email with your details, as outlined below, to bag your guest list place.

We're keeping tight-lipped on the details for now, and will be revealing them on social media in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out to hear which amazing women in media will be joining us this time round.

🚨 But it wouldn't be fair if we didn't give you a little teaser... 🚨

We're thrilled to have Sue Turton, a veteran broadcast journalist who for almost 30 years has broken countless exclusive stories and dodged gunfire in some of the world’s hotspots. Sue is still on the run from the Egyptian authorities, having been tried on terrorism charges alongside her Al Jazeera colleagues in 2015 - she certainly has a story to tell. This year, she released a guide to changing the world through politics and activism, entitled This Book Will (Help You) Change The World.

We're also so excited to welcome TV producer, journalist and writer Yomi Adegoke, who produces Channel 4 News as well as writing regularly in the UK media about feminism, race, popular culture, class and politics. Yomi is currently co-authoring Slay in Your Lane: The Black Girl Bible, which will be released in 2018. The book is a guide to life for young black women in Britain, and will feature interviews with incredible women including Denise Lewis, Malorie Blackman, Laura Mvula, and Gemma Cairney, to name just a few!

We have many more names to name and announcements to announce, so keep your eyes peeled - we'd absolutely love to see you there on the 6th of December.

Please send an email to womeninmedialdn@gmail.com with your name, occupation, and date of birth for your place on the guest list. If you'd like to bring a friend (or several!), please provide their information too, as well as an email address.

Thank you, and we hope you can join us!

The Women in Media London team 💁🏻✨
