Der koloniale Blick – Fotos aus der Namibia-Sammlung des Übersee-Museums
Im April 1884 wurde das heutige Namibia zum ersten deutschen „Schutzgebiet“ erklärt. Neben naturkundlichen und ethnografischen Objekten gaben Siedler, Soldaten und Forschungsreisende auch Fotos an die Sammlungen des Museums: Menschen, Landschaften und Stadtansichten – Fotos als historische Quelle. Was sagen uns koloniale Motive über Exotik, Rassismus und das koloniale Selbstverständnis der Fotografen und Besitzer?
