Speak Your Truth: Communication Skills for Dating

Are you tired of holding in your needs and feelings? Are you afraid of speaking up in fear of losing your partner(s)? Or maybe you did speak up, but you’re not satisfied with your delivery – or the results.

Truth be told, humans are (unfortunately) not mind readers and you will never get what you want if you don’t learn how to properly speak up. We will explore emotional intelligence tools that will help you express what you want in relationships, by speaking your truth in a way that is clear and rational. No more word vomit -- we want honesty, respect and productivity in relationships.

Led by Nicole Wells Kurtzman, public speaking teacher extraordinaire and founder of Speak Wells, this workshop will help you discover your core needs – this way you are prepared to react to a variety of situations in a way that feels comfortable and natural for you. If you speak from a place that is aligned with your core values, you will never regret speaking up no matter the outcome.

We'll start with a free write activity and then Nicole will help us explore best practices for initiating dialogues around getting what you want, how to best express it, and receive results in a calm, effective, and confident manner.

About Nicole

Nicole Wells (SpeakWells.com) turned her greatest fear – public speaking – into her greatest passion, and has since taught thousands of professionals to do the same. She coaches individuals and groups from Fortune 500 companies, major law firms, and leaders in the marketing, branding and financial services industries. Nicole founded the consultancy Speak Wells and has more than 15 years of training and coaching experience. Nicole has been an adjunct faculty member at New York University’s Stern School of Business, The School for Professional Studies and The New School. She earned a Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University. Nicole has been certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists since 2014. Nicole specializes in presentation skills, handling nerves, first impressions and impromptu speaking. Her mission is to empower even the most reluctant speakers of the world to stand up kand express themselves with poise and confidence. About It's Not Personal

It's Not Personal is an inclusive, femme-centric dating collective and growing anthology. Using the tools of art and writing, INP creates opportunities for women/womxn to share their dating experiences in safe, judgement free spaces and help them find comfort in their relationship status whatever that may be. The collective aims to inspire its global community to embrace self-love and pursue fulfilling, respectful relationships through a range of workshops, events, and a monthly column with Bust Magazine Online.
