In the lead-up to Frocking Hilarious (our signature all-women comedy gala) - we’re coming together to laugh in the face of the casual sexism women continue to experience on a daily basis.
We’ve pulled together a fun, creative plan to take the Melbourne CBD by storm and expose examples of everyday sexism in our public spaces. The bigger our group, the louder our message will be.
When: Saturday 4th November
Where: Meet at the State Library in Melbourne, 328 Swanston St
Who: You and your mates (+ ActionAid team member Hannah to help lead the way!)
How: RSVP online and we’ll send you the details > http://act.ai/thatsnotfunny
Everyday sexism normalises the treatment of women as second-class citizens and paves the way for further abuses of women’s rights. But comedy has always been a tool of resistance and challenging the status quo...
So now we’re using the power of women’s laughter to call-out everyday sexism in our city with 3 simple words: That’s. Not. Funny.
Hope to see you there!
