The issue of black women’s mental health and wellbeing is a neglected area ignored by public health, research and policies.
The first stage of the independent research was to explore the current data available, this second phase is to create a hub and space to explore the findings and issues found in stage 1.
Allowing black women, the opportunity to fully express themselves, be heard and shape wellbeing services to meet their needs in a safe and confidential space.
This is the first official research being conducted in the UK and will be part of a larger series of research.
Spaces are limited so it is important that you book a free place and arrive on time (although late comers and children will be permitted, it maybe disruptive to the discussions that have started).
Light refreshments will be available.
Due to the subject area, the group is aimed at black and mixed race women of African/Caribbean descent.
