Our friends from The Garden's Edge will be joining us again to show us how to harvest the beautiful amaranth that we planted back in May, as well as ways to prepare it.
As the good folks at The Garden's Edge have written, "We have worked for 16 years to bring this precious seed back to the villages of Qachuu Aloom in Guatemala. Banned by the Spanish during conquest, Amaranth held an important place in the spiritual practices and food sovereignty of the Maya and Aztec as well as many others."
Please bring a sun hat and a refillable water bottle, and wear good shoes for working in the garden... and come prepared to learn and have fun!
