Symposium zu Kolonialismus im Museum. Konflikte, Potentiale, Öffentlichkeiten

Wie gehen Museen mit ihrem kolonialen Erbe um? Welche Forschungs- und Ausstellungsansätze gibt es europaweit? Was sagen Besucherreaktionen über gesellschaftliche Diskurse rund um das Thema aus? Das Symposium lädt ein, diese Fragen und mehr aus interdisziplinärer Perspektive zukunftsorientiert zu diskutieren. Die Vorträge sind auf Deutsch und Englisch. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos.

Geladen sind die Kuratoren und Kuratorinnen der Ausstellungen "Heikles Erbe" Alexis von Poser (Landesmuseum Hannover), "Deutscher Kolonialismus" Heike Hartmann (Deutsches Historisches Museum, Berlin) und "Afro Modern. Journeys through the Black Atlantic" Tanya Barson (Tate Liverpool) sowie der Professor für materielle Kultur und wissenschaftlicher Leiter Wayne Modest (Tropenmuseum, Amsterdam).
