Letzer Ausstellungstag "Auguste Rodin"

Description

Am Sonntag, den 3. September 2017 endet die Sammlungspräsentation „Auguste Rodin. Meisterwerke zum 100. Todestag“.

Darunter sind seine radikal veristische Figur Johannes der Täufer (1878-1880) sowie die verkleinerten Ausführungen von drei Figuren aus Rodins berühmter Skulpturengruppe Die Bürger von Calais (1889), die genauso wie das Johannes-Exemplar vom Kunstverein Bremen direkt beim Künstler in Auftrag gegeben worden waren. Rodins Figuren werden ergänzt durch zeitgenössische Fotografien von Candida Höfer (*1944): In ihrem Zyklus Zwölf von 2000 fotografierte sie Rodins Bürger von Calais an ihren 12 Standorten weltweit.

Die Ausstellung ist eingebettet in einen internationalen Reigen von Veranstaltungen und Präsentationen zum Schaffen und Leben Rodins. Das Musée Rodin veröffentlicht auf der Online-Plattform rodin100.org alle Veranstaltungen, die Rodin weltweit als Wegbereiter der Moderne feiern.
