Women's Art for Change - Showcase

At Ziferblat London, London, United Kingdom
On 27th August 2017 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Description

***SHOWCASE***

Women's Art for Change is a space for women of all walks of life to share their voice with a supportive and inclusive audience. This is an opportunity for women to reclaim their space in the world and be part of a community that really sees and hears them. Every woman has a unique and powerful gift with the potential to connect with and transform the world around her. We aspire to hounour and celebrate women by creating a safe space from which their Art and Soul can emerge.

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” - Virginia Wolf

The journey of women in our modern day is an inspirational tale of courage, determination, compassion and resilience. This last century has witnessed incredible progress, from earning the vote and our space in the workplace to freedom of choice over our own bodies and reproductive rights.

This has enabled women to flourish as individuals creating a powerful ripple effect throughout the world. It is our responsibility as free women to reclaim our own space in the world, our voice, our values and our dreams so as to encourage others, in perhaps more restricted circumstances, to be brave and reclaim theirs too.

Art has been an invaluable friend to all those who suffer, who are growing and shedding their skin. Art transforms suffering into beauty. It brings the unknown into consciousness. It is a vessel for deep connection between artists and audiences, humans and humans.

"The world is remade through the power of fierce women performing outrageous acts of creative rebellion." ~Louise M. Paré

We will gather to:

- Honour the journey of women in our society.
- Celebrate art, and its transformative power, in all forms.
- Inspire forward thinking and the birth of new ideas.
- Practice and embody kindness, compassion and sisterhood.
- Share, connect, learn and grow.
- Invite women, men, LGBTQ+, old and young to witness the voice, Art and soul of the brave artists performing.

Join us in this wonderful and purposeful venture, and together create a beautiful, loving and compassionate future!

“Western women will save the world.” - Dalai Lama
