She is the Real Hero Celebratory March – World Humanitarian Day

Calling all sisters (and the brothers who support us)! Join us on World Humanitarian Day for a march across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge to celebrate the real humanitarian heroes.

Too often, World Humanitarian Day has been used as an opportunity to celebrate those we traditionally recognize as heroes – humanitarians who fly in to an emergency to offer support, and fly out again.

This World Humanitarian Day, ActionAid Australia is supporting the real heroes – women in communities, who are always the first to respond when disasters strike. When women are supported to lead humanitarian response, they ensure that everyone in their community is protected. And at the same time, they create new spaces for women to lead their communities beyond the emergency.

On Saturday the 19th August, we’ll be leading a She is the Real Hero Celebratory March across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge to commemorate womanitarians all over the world.
