Wolves Artsfest: Herstory LIVE x SXWKS

Join ART!VIST UK for a night of visual art, poetry, music and storytelling exploring the historic stories of an under represented diaspora in collaboration with SXWKS.

The night will feature a DJ set from Lex Amor and exhibition showcasing the work of Olivia Twist as curated by Olivia Twist and Aliyah Hasinah with featured performance sets from Barbella, Josette Joseph, Caleb Femi & more to be annonced.

Barbella
Born in Toulouse France, the now Birmingham based singer, songwriter and producer is making a positive name for herself in Birmingham and beyond. Barbella is a gifted musician with huge potential, a definite one to watch. She has a lot to look forward to and is excited to share her journey and new music with her fans. @BarbellaMusic

Lex Amor is a DJ, host of Reprezent Radio's Mellowdic show and member of sxwks collective. @LexAmor_

VITAL
VITAL aka Vernon Caisley is an artist, performer, motivational speaker, videographer and video editor. Born and influenced by his Wolverhampton and Jamaican roots, he is a strong believer in family morals and expresses this through his music and home life which is documented through his social media.

Not only is VITAL a leader in his household, but also in his community. He has been recognised a number of times for his music and personal endeavours receiving awards such as the business & enterprise award in 2008, entrepreneur of the year award in 2009, black achievements award in 2010, Best Performer, Best Artist 2011, Short Film / Music Video Love For Grime - Best Short Film Digi' Award 2014, Midlands Independent Music Awards 2015 just to name a few in the recent years.

Sumia Jaama
Sumia is a recent English literature and Arabic BA graduate and will be commencing her MA in Creative Writing and Education in September. She is interested in how poetry can be used to not only capture moments but in documenting an honest and authentic individual cultural identity. A semi-finalist in the Roundhouse Poetry Slam 2017, she is currently facilitating poetry workshops with Keats House as the museum’s Poetry Ambassador.
