This talk will focus on the making of the National Theatre of Scotland, Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre - Horsecross and Stellar Quines Theatre Company's forthcoming production The 306: Day, part of 1418 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary.
The talk will cover the history and research behind the women and families featured in the production and discuss the role women played on the front line and the home front during the war.
The speakers will include Oliver Emanuel (writer) and Gareth Williams (composer) as well as other researchers and historians in the field of Women and WW1. It will be chaired by Jane Fowler, formerly Co-ordinator of BBC Scotland’s WW1 Programming.
The talk is preceded by a sharing of work created by women in The 306: Day - Silence and Song workshops.
