No Fly On the WALL Presents... 'Generation Revolution' + Q&A

At DIY Space for London, London, United Kingdom
On 14th April 2017 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Description

Continuing with this year's theme of 'Re-imagining', the No Fly on the WALL Academy opens its doors yet again and this time we're screening 'Generation Revolution', an independent film that has been making waves across the UK, USA, and beyond.

Directed by filmmakers Cassie Quarless and Usayd Younis, Generation Revolution follows two groups of young Black and Brown activists and documents the tumultuous summer of 2016 which saw protests sweeping across the UK.

After the screening there will a Q&A session with the directors and a panel discussion exploring how women are portrayed in the film and the role of Black women in activism moving forward, paricularly in light of the era of Brexit and Trump, and following worldwide protests by women in recent memory such as the March on Washington and London.

Speaking will be writer, performer and activist Isabel Adomakah-Young; Student activist and socialist Barbara Ntumy; and activist and community organiser Imani Robinson.
